Kevin was born in the Bronx, New York, and was raised here on Long Island in the Hamlet of Mastic. He is a graduate of William Floyd High School and earned a two-year degree from Grumman Data Systems Institute.
Kevin became a Southampton Town Police Officer in 1988 and served more than 30-years retiring as a Detective. Following his career with the Southampton Town Police Department, Kevin served as Lead Investigator for the Suffolk County Assigned Counsel Defender Plan. Kevin represented the Southampton Town Patrolman’s Benevolent Association as both Vice President and President for more than twenty years. In addition, Kevin served as both 1st Vice President and President of the Special Education Parent Teacher Association out of Center Moriches School District. Kevin represented and advocated for students with special needs at all levels of education. He acted as parent advocate and advisor for the special needs community and their families from all east end five townships. Kevin founded the Center Moriches Special Olympics Athletic Club, providing a competitive athletic forum for special needs athletes across the east end of Long Island.
Kevin was awarded and recognized by the New York State Justice Center, receiving the Champion Award as the first Detective in New York State to receive the honor for his work investigating crimes against the special needs community Region-4.
Kevin partnered with SEPA Mujer many years ago and was recognized by the organization for his joint efforts in addressing language access, at the same time building relations and trust amongst the Hispanic and Law Enforcement community. He was presented with the Partnership Award by SEPA Mujer in 2016 for those successful efforts.
Kevin brings some 35 years of Law Enforcement experience to the organization in addition to years of community volunteerism and attention to the needs of the many communities here on Long Island. Kevin will continue to be a liaison for the organization to the many Law Enforcement Agencies here in Suffolk County.
