Part of SEPA Mujer’s mission is to nurture and improve civic engagement by way of leadership skills and legal assistance. Citizenship promotes civic engagement, which is crucial for building a strong and prosperous community. Citizenship also ensures that everyone has the opportunity to access rights and benefits, including the right to vote. But most importantly, it promotes inclusivity and diversity, ensuring that people from all walks of life can become U.S. citizens. Through the Citizenship Clinic, SEPA Mujer will aid low-income permanent residents overcome some of the financial barriers they face when trying to become U.S. citizens by helping them complete and submit their applications for Naturalization.

Medical Disability Exceptions to English and Civics
If you are unable to comply with the English and civics naturalization requirements because of a physical or developmental disability or a mental impairment. You may be eligible for an exception to English and Civics. To request this exception, a licensed medical or osteopathic doctor, or licensed clinical psychologist must complete Form N-648, Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions. This form must be submitted with your Naturalization packet.
