Meet Eunice Mourato, a dedicated advocate for immigrant rights and financial literacy, who brings a wealth of experience and passion to our board. Originally from Portugal, Eunice immigrated to New York in 1994 and was raised in Suffolk County. As a mother, she is deeply committed to making a positive impact in her community. With a Master's Degree in Accounting from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor's Degree from Hofstra University, Eunice has built an impressive career in the financial sector, both in public and private accounting. Her professional journey includes roles such as Audit Supervisor at PKF O’Connor Davies, Accounting Manager at Teachers Federal Credit Union, and various other positions where she demonstrated her expertise in financial reporting, not-for-profit auditing, audit management, and process improvement. Eunice's commitment to serving her community shines through her volunteer work. She has dedicated her time and skills to organizations like CARECEN, where she implemented financial systems and played a vital role during a transitional period. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Eunice is an active member of professional associations such as IMA, AICPA, and NYSCCPA. Her proficiency in accounting software and management skills make her a valuable asset to any team. As a new board member, Eunice Mourato brings a unique perspective, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for making a difference.
