Daniela Robles was born and raised on Long Island, NY. The daughter of two Mexican immigrants, Daniela has always understood and advocated for the rights of Latino/a immigrants and youth in her community. Daniela’s career in advocacy began in her highschool sociology class her senior year, where she learned about the injustices that marginalized groups face in the United States.
Having been spurred to make change in her community, Daniela went on to attend Stony Brook University, School of Social Welfare where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. During her undergrad, Daniela took on various leadership positions in clubs based on feminist ideals and student development and success. Daniela later graduated with her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University, where she specialized in Community, Policy, and Political Social Action. During her graduate education, Daniela was a social work intern at SEPA Mujer. Daniela worked primarily with the Community Organizing Department, leading and co-leading campaigns such as the Excluded Workers Fund and Coverage For All. She also assisted with grant writing and OVS evaluations. Daniela received her LMSW license in October of 2022, allowing her to practice social work in New York State. Daniela is proud to be back at SEPA Mujer as the Thriving Latinas Coordinator, allowing her to work with victims of violence and aid in their professional and personal development.
In her free time, Daniela enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She loves nature walks, going to the movies, and frequenting her favorite restaurants.
