Victoria Hernández, from Mexico City. Victoria came with the goal of seeking a new future for herself and her children. As an immigrant she faced discrimination, domestic violence, both physical and psychological. Victoria saw the need to do more and defend the rights of immigrants and women. Inspired by her mother, she began volunteering and taking several leadership workshops with SEPA Mujer inc. urging the community to register to vote after the elections of 2017! Today she represents SEPA Mujer as Lead Coordinator of the Western Suffolk area. She has organized in campaigns such as One Fair Wage NY , Language Access, Green Light NY, among others. Victoria now helps facilitate SEPA Mujer workshops, the growth of SEPA Mujer's new Huntington Station chapter and continues to organize members in demonstrations and legislative visits. Her children, mother, and the women of SEPA Mujer are her daily inspiration.
