Bethsy is the Vice President of Program Impact Strategy in Hispanic Federation. He has a history of developing advocacy strategies and programs that engage communities and their leaders at the national level. While Ms. Morales-Reid has a background in public health and helps develop health policy priorities for HF, she leads teams that impact the community through programs that address health, immigration, education, and the economic empowerment. Prior to the Hispanic Federation, Ms. Morales-Reid directed several programs within the Research and Evaluation Department of the Latino Commission on AIDS. Bethsy is an experienced trainer/facilitator and has extensive experience working with non-traditional partners, type 2 diabetes, HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, advocacy, program design and evaluation, curriculum development, coalition building, and capacity building. She has been published in the AIDS Education and Prevention Journal for her work on behavioral interventions. Bethsy has also consulted for UNAIDS, the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Work and the International Rescue Committee. Bethsy is a native New Yorker who received her BA in Political Science from Fordham University and her MA in International Affairs from the New School University. Ms. Morales-Reid has worked her entire professional life as a passionate advocate for social and economic justice, which is critical to combating the social barriers that affect public health in our diverse communities through public education, advocacy, and greater visibility.

Paul Amajor, MD, MS-HSM, is the Director of Community Engagement’s Health Equity and Special Projects at Healthfirst, the largest not-for-profit healthcare insurance provider in New York. He is also the chair of the enterprise-wide health equity action council, a cross-functional team of healthcare leaders and executives working together on multiple initiatives to advance health equity and close the health disparities gap in vulnerable populations. Dr. Amajor is a passionate healthcare leader, board member, executive advisor, and relentless health equity advocate. Dr. Amajor works vigorously to improve access to care and address issues surrounding social determinants of health for the most vulnerable. In 2020, He was diagnosed with COVID-19, hospitalized, and almost lost his life. Although he was a healthy young man pre-diagnosis, the impact on his health was severe. This experience increased his drive to advance health equity and close the health disparities gap for the most vulnerable members of our society. He engages secular and non-secular partners in implementing strategies that address the social needs encountered by their member population. He also strongly believes in utilizing trusted community voices and channels like Faith-based organizations and institutions to improve the health and well-being of the community we live in and serve. Dr. Amajor has developed various value-based care strategies for organizations and critical partners. His work at these organizations helped health systems and providers have a holistic view of their member population and identify opportunities to close care gaps and reduce the total cost of care in the long run. He is a trained Medical Doctor with a joint master’s degree in Health Science from the University of Oradea, Faculty of Medicine, Romania. He also has a specialized master’s in healthcare services management from the Rutgers Business School in Newark/New Brunswick. He holds a certificate in healthcare change management and executive healthcare leadership from Cornell University and a certificate from HarvardX in improving global health: focusing on quality and safety. Dr. Amajor sits on the Advisory Board of the Rutgers Business School Healthcare Analytics and Intelligence program. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee – NJ Chapter) and an executive member of the Africa Policy Conversation. He strongly believes in the power of mentorship and is involved in helping young professionals navigate life and achieve their professional goals
