Anngy joined SEPA Mujer in March of 2020 as the new case manager for the OVS funded Victim Assistance Program. This program includes immigration case relief, a sexual assault survivors support group and a 24/7 Spanish language hotline aiming to help victims of gender-based violence, hate crimes, and wage theft. In addition to case management services, Anngy will also supervise the Ayuda Latina hotline, which consists of volunteers from various Latin American backgrounds.
Anngy spent two and a half years working for the Developmental Disabilities Institute as a direct support professional. During her time at DDI she worked mainly with adults with varying forms of intellectual disorders including autism. Although she hasn’t had much experience in working with the population that SEPA Mujer serves, she is no stranger to the importance of client advocacy and compassion.
The daughter of a single mother immigrant from Colombia, Anngy is distinctly aware of many of the obstacles that Latina immigrants face in this country. Her main goal is to empower women and allow them to find their voice in hopes of a better life.
Anngy has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Stony Brook University.
